ANNOUNCE: Annual SwissSIER Winter Retreat, 13-16 January

Dear all,

I am pleased and excited to announce that, for the fourth year now, we are organizing the annual swissSIER Winter Retreat from January 13-16, 2013 in Stechelberg in the Berner Oberland at the end of the Lauterbrunnen Valley. The Swiss Strategy, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship Researchers (swissSIER) association is a Swiss non-profit with the goal to provide opportunities for colleagues from different and diverse institutions to connect and to augment their professional competencies. We create those opportunities by balancing workshops with more dynamic interactions that can easily found in the Swiss Alps.

This year's event will be at a chalet deep in the Lauterbrunnen Valley in the community of Stechelberg. We have rented the entire Alpenhof (http://www.alpenhof-stechelberg.ch), thus allowing for a program of professional workshops in the morning and evening hours and free time between 10h00-16h30 to enjoy the variety of winter activities offered by the Mürren-Schilthorn ski resort just above Stechelberg. The program for this year is further enhanced by the participation of several respected young scholars from across Europe, notably Ad van den Oord (Durham University), Carina Lomberg (Uni Berne), Jana Thiel (ESADE), Lorenzo Massa (University of Vienna), Luca Berchicci (Rotterdam School of Management), Tiago Ratinho (University of Twente), and Vareska van de Vrande (Rotterdam School of Management), who have kindly agreed to help co-create the program and share their experiences and professional wisdom with the swissSIER community. In addition, we are pleased to announce that Jean-Philippe Bonardi, Associate Dean and Full professor at HEC, University of Lausanne, will be joining us to give his insights on the challenges of getting published in the areas of Entrepreneurship and Innovation.

Thanks to the gracious contributions by several Swiss universities, including University of Bern, ETH Zurich, and EPFL, we are able to offer you the opportunity to participate in this event for a fee of CHF 100 (affiliated with Swiss university) or CHF 140 (international participants). This includes lodging as well as all meals listed on the attached program! To ensure your participation, we urge you to register early, as the chalet has a limited number of rooms and beds!
