We are looking for outstanding students to join the Interdisciplinary Ph.D. Program in Technological Change and Entrepreneurship (TCE), developed jointly by Carnegie Mellon University, the Technical University of Lisbon and the Catholic University of Portugal. I would like to ask you to consider this initiative if you know students who might have the interest, academic potential, and international perspective to excel in such doctoral program.

This is an interdisciplinary program focused on technological change and entrepreneurship with a strong research focus, and a global perspective. Upon completion, participants will earn two doctoral degrees: one from Carnegie Mellon University, and one from the Portuguese universities involved. Students will spend year 1 in Lisbon and year 2 at Carnegie Mellon in Pittsburgh and be jointly advised by professors on both sides of the Atlantic. The research director of the program is Steven Klepper.

The deadline for applications for students beginning in September 2008 is April 15. Early application is especially important to secure the available fellowships. Students awarded fellowships will be fully funded, including fees and a monthly stipend of about 1000€. The Ph.D. program is open to participants of all nationalities, and from a variety of disciplines, including engineering, science, economics, business and social sciences.

Further information regarding the program can be found online at www.icti.cmu.edu/tce/ <http://www.icti.cmu.edu/tce/> .

Please feel free to forward this email on to any interested students, as well as other colleagues, administrators, etc. who might know of, or be able to send this email on to suitable applicants for the program.
