Call for Papers - World Review of Entrepreneurship, Management and Sustainable Development  (WREMSD)
Special Issue on: "Diaspora as Wealth Creators: Trade and Enterprise Development"
Guest Editor: Professor Bengt T. Henoch, Jönköping University, Sweden

This special issue welcomes papers which discuss the potential of diasporas to create wealth in their home and host regions. Papers are particularly welcome in, but not limited to, the following areas:

Diasporas and policies
* How does migration influence the making of diasporas?
* What are the different existing diasporas and relations to their home country?
* How does the status, history, well being, integration and other features in the host country influence strategies towards the home country?
* What incentives in the home countries can attract diasporas?

Diasporas: networks, associations and collective actions
* What is on the diaspora agenda and how can policy enable diasporas' contributions?
* How do they work?
* What is their aim?
* What motivates the diaspora interest in contributing to development?
* What policies at national and local level are interacting with diasporas and engaging them as development partners in home and host countries?

Tools supporting development of trade and industry between home and host countries
* Trade promotion organisations and programs, e-trade and business data bases, tele-centers and web-sites

Remittances, investments and micro-finances linking diaspora and home region
* Review of remittance flow, presentation of investment opportunities
* Connecting new remittance channels (cards), SMS billing systems, banking and local micro-finance

Education and training support to start up activities and innovative environments
* Entrepreneurship, business management and strategies, e-learning, platforms for project work, knowledge sharing and collaborative networks
* Role of collaborative university networks and student exchange

State-of-the-art information society including diaspora, home and host regions
* New organisation and methods of work in the three stakeholder settings
* Culture simulator, visualisation of opportunities, pervasive games, collaborating e-individuals in e-work, knowledge and capability networks

Notes for Intending Authors

Submitted papers should not have been previously published nor be currently under consideration for publication elsewhere. All papers are refereed through a peer review process.
