Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Entrepreneurship
Bettany Centre for Entrepreneurial Performance and Economics

Cranfield School of Management is currently expanding its faculty team in the field of entrepreneurship. It recently made an appointment to the Bettany Chair of Entrepreneurship, has just advertised for a research fellow/senior research fellow and is in the process of establishing the Bettany Centre for Entrepreneurial Performance and Economics. A vacancy now exists for a lecturer/senior lecturer in entrepreneurship.

The main responsibility of this role will be to undertake lecturing, research and managerial duties at a level appropriate for a leading international management school. In terms of teaching, Cranfield has a wide range of programmes including MBA, MSc, doctoral and executive education. Having an interest and ability to teach in these diverse settings will be an advantage. In relation to research, the aim is to secure international publication on entrepreneurship in RAE rated economics, finance and management journals.

Successful candidates should have a PhD in economics or a quantitative related field of management. Ideally, candidates should have a track record of research appropriate to the current stage of their career development. Expertise of entrepreneurship in the field of economics, strategy or finance is certainly an advantage although not essential (Cranfield recognises that entrepreneurship is both a multi and inter disciplinary field and that many leading international academics began their careers with more narrowly clustered expertise). She/he will be expected to engage in research funding applications with a view to publish research on entrepreneurship in leading academic journals. The lecturer/senior lecturer will also be expected to play an active part in the Bettany Centre for Entrepreneurial Performance and Economics. In particular, she/he will be expected to partake in some managerial duties within the Centre. The Bettany Centre for Entrepreneurial Performance and Economics is growing and the Lecturer/Senior Lecturer will be joining at an exciting time.

The Lecturer/Senior Lecturer will be appointed on either Grades A, B or SL depending on experience and publication record. Therefore, the salary for the post will be in the region of either £24,000 to £28,000 (Grade A), £29,000 to 38,000 (Grade B) or £39,000 to £45,000 (SL).

Confidential informal enquiries may be addressed to Professor Andrew Burke, Bettany Chair of Entrepreneurship: telephone +44 (0) 1234 754372; e-mail andrew.burke at cranfield.ac.uk. Application forms and further details are available from the HR Department, Cranfield School of Management, Cranfield, Bedford MK43 0AL, telephone 01234 754575 or e-mail hrsom at cranfield.ac.uk. Alternatively visit our website www.cranfield.ac.uk/hr to apply online. Please quote reference Z/6010.

Closing date for receipt of applications: Friday 12th May 2006.
Interviews will be held during the week commencing 22nd May 2006.
The post will be available from 1st August 2006.
