MBAA International 2015
March 25 – 27, 2015 Chicago
 
The Operations Management and Entrepreneurship Association (OMEA) encourages faculty, students, and practitioners interested in operations management, supply chain management, logistics, entrepreneurship,  and sustainable development to submit Full-Length or Research-in-Progress papers and proposals for Panels, Symposia, Practitioner Workshops or Student Forums for review and possible presentation at MBAA 2015 and publication in the OMEA Proceedings.  Awards will be given to outstanding papers.  At least one author must attend the conference to make the presentation.

MBAA International 2015

MBAA 2015 is scheduled for March 25 – 27, 2015 in Chicago. The theme acknowledges that this is the 51st Anniversary of MBAA so please plan to join us in celebrating our past contributions and examining the major issues to be faced in the next half-century.
SPECIAL CONFERENCE FEATURES:
 
Conference Best Paper Award sponsored by the MBAA recognizing the best paper based on the theme of the conference.
 
Distinguished Paper Awards are sponsored by McGraw-Hill/Richard D. Irwin, Inc. 
 
Best Student Submission - the best student work (2 papers) will be selected for this award. The author(s) will be recognized and the paper included in the Proceedings. Award determined by referees and sponsored by OMEA.
 
TYPES OF SUBMISSIONS SOUGHT:
 
Competitive Full-Length Papers make up the core of the conference program and are organized into concurrent sessions, each of which will constitute three to four papers; each final manuscript (title, abstract, body, references and all exhibits) not to exceed 10 single-spaced pages.
 
Research-in-Progress Papers may be submitted as papers or detailed abstracts, describing an ongoing research project or study of interest.
 
Panels and Symposia consist of a chairperson/moderator and three or four presenters offering their perspectives. Opportunity should be provided for audience discussion and engagement.  OMEA hopes to sponsor panels on assessment and global awareness.  
 
Practitioner Workshops and Student Forums highlight submitted works relating to a particular topic relevant to all conference attendees. These proposals may include regular paper and research-in-progress sessions or panel and symposia sessions with three to four presenters presenting an applied problem/issue while the remainder of the session is discussion of the issue.
 


SUBMISSION TRACKS:
 
Operations Management Track – submissions which address contemporary research on operations management, including new technologies, innovations, or issues in the Operations area. The Operations Management track will include panels on global awareness and assessment.
 
Entrepreneurship Track – submissions focusing on start-ups; teaching, or management of entrepreneurial firms; control systems; process management; financial management; outsourcing; and business plan development. The Entrepreneurship track will include a panel on social entrepreneurship.
 
Supply Chain Track – submissions which address supply chain management, cross-functional management issues, financial and managerial control, issues with small, medium or large firms as well as other topics addressing the realities and challenges in the management of supply chains. The supply chain track encourages sessions on risk management and combatting diversion and counterfeiting through channel control.
 
Ethics in OM or Entrepreneurship Track - papers focusing on ethics in Operations Management or entrepreneurship, “ethical or just” decision making in relation to suppliers, employees, customers and investors, and ethics and the law.
 
Global Strategy in OM and Global Supply Chains Track – submissions focusing on gaining competitive advantage through strategies that build operational or supply chain performance to improve costs, quality and strategic position.
 
Case Studies in OM or Entrepreneurship Track - case studies for teaching important or unique aspects of management and control in OM or Entrepreneurship. This track will combine with the Society for Case Research.
 
Sustainable Business Practices for Operations or Entrepreneurship Track – submissions focusing on how Management can gain a sustainable competitive advantage through strategies that build operational or supply chain performance to improve costs, quality and strategic position using community involvement, social responsibility and or ethical practices.
 
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:
 
•         Full-Length Papers, Research-in-Progress papers, Panels and Symposia, Practitioner Workshops and Student Forums may be submitted continuously from the initial Call for Papers until the Submissions Deadline.
o   Only electronic submissions will be accepted and MUST be in MS Word document (.doc or .docx) format.
•  An Acknowledgement for each submission received will be sent via e-mail to the corresponding author.
o   Papers receiving awards will be published in the Conference Proceedings, along with all accepted and presented papers.
o   Author(s) of accepted submissions MUST REGISTER for the conference and at least one author MUST ATTEND the meetings in Chicago to make a presentation of the paper.
•         For Papers and Research-in-Progress works:
o   Each paper will be double-blind refereed. 
o   Papers MUST NOT have been presented elsewhere before the 2014 Chicago meeting or be under consideration by other conferences or journals.
o   ALL submitted Papers and Research-in-Progress MUST include:
•  A Cover Sheet including the Title of the paper and each author’s (a) name: (b) position, (c) affiliation, (d) mailing address, (e) telephone and fax numbers, and (f) e-mail address. 
•         Cover Sheet must be capable of being easily removed before distributing for blind review.
•  The manuscript including Title, Abstract, Body, References, etc.
•         Tables, Charts, Figures, etc. may be embedded in the text or attached at the end while submissions are under review.
•         ALL references identifying authorship MUST be removed. Citations of an author’s work may be addressed using, for example, “… as reported in prior research (Author 2013).”
•  NOTE: There is a 10-page limit enforced for the Proceedings. 
•         Authors may submit manuscripts that exceed this limit by a reasonable amount with the expectation of revising later, if accepted.
•         Proceedings guidelines are a maximum of ten (10) single-spaced pages (11 or 12-point) including Title, Authors and affiliations, Abstract, Body (with embedded Tables and Figures), References and Appendices.
•         Detailed formatting guidelines will be sent with Notices of Acceptance.
•         For Proposals for Panels, Symposia, Workshops and Forums:
o   Proposals will be reviewed and selected by the Program and Track Chairs  
o   ALL submitted Proposals MUST include:
•  a Cover Sheet including the title of the proposed event and each presenter’s name with affiliation, mailing address, phone, fax and e-mail
•  a 1-2 page General Summary of the proposed session followed by 1-page Abstracts for each individual presentation
•         Send all OMEA Track submissions as an e-mail attachment to OMEA Program Chair:
