In Economics with focus on Innovation and Entrepreneurship in regions of varying economic density 

JIBS is now inviting applicants for a PhD student position in economics financed by the project R-ARE, a long-term project focused on entrepreneurship, innovation and development in regions of varying economic density. R-ARE is a research project carried out as a collaboration between CIRCLE in Lund and JIBS. 
The project is managed by Professor Martin Andersson, and includes several international research partners in Europe and US. More information about the R-ARE project and CIRCLE may be found at http://www.circle.lu.se and http://www.circle.lu.se/research/ongoing-projects.   
Working Task / Qualification 
The PhD-student will follow the doctoral program at JIBS. The doctoral programme formally ends with the doctoral candidate publicly defends his/her printed doctoral thesis. The holder of the position has as his/her primary obligation to successfully fulfil his/her third cycle education ending with a doctoral degree (PhD). In addition to PhD studies and research, the duties include teaching and other departmental tasks. The language of instruction, supervision and teaching is English.
The doctoral studies in this position will be related to the research project “R-ARE: entrepreneurship, innovation and development in regions of varying economic densities", coordinated by Professor Martin Andersson. 
An applicant is eligible to be admitted to the position as PhD-student in Economics at JIBS if he or she fulfils basic eligibility requirements, and has documented qualifications worth at least 90 credits in Economics and independent projects (degree projects) worth at least 15 credits in Economics.

The application should be accompanied by the following documents, in 3 copies: 
• A application (max 500 words) 
• Copies of exam certificates. 
• A short CV . 
• Certified test results where applicable (e.g., GRE, GMAT, TOEFL, IELTS). 
• A description (max 500 words) of the research topics the applicant is interested in and of the reasons he or she wants to pursue these studies. 
• At least one and at most two independent projects (e.g., essays) worth the equivalent of 15 credits in Economics. 
• Recommendation of personal referees.
