Research Fellow (the dynamics of open innovation)
15 month fixed term contract
>From £29,853 per annum
Closing date for applications: 11 October 2010
We have an opportunity for a Research Fellow to work on an ESRC funded project led by Professor Jim Love (Aston) and Professor Stephen Roper (Warwick). The project will focus on the dynamics of open innovation, the firm-level benefits of open innovation and the potential externalities of openness. The study will use firm-level panel data to examine how the nature and extent of open innovation has changed through time, how the use of open innovation affects the performance of individual firms, and whether open innovation has positive externality effects.
You will be responsible for maintaining and using a large-scale dataset, performing econometric estimation and co-authoring outputs arising from the research. You will also be involved in dissemination through several breakfast briefings which form part of the impact plan.
Ideally you will have or be close to gaining a PhD in economics, econometrics or a closely related area. Knowledge of panel data econometrics is essential, as is a working knowledge of Stata. An understanding of the economics of innovation is highly desirable.
