The Hunter Centre for Entrepreneurship wishes to make the following
appointment:

Research Assistant to the ESRC CENTRE FOR CHARITABLE GIVING AND
PHILANTHROPY: Research on Individual and Business Giving (known as the
Entrepreneurial Philanthropy Research Group) within the Hunter Centre
for Entrepreneurship

The Hunter Centre for Entrepreneurship (within Strathclyde Business
School) has been awarded funding to undertake research in the area of
contemporary entrepreneurial philanthropy. This post is funded by the
Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), Carnegie UK Foundation, the
UK Government's Cabinet Office via its Office of the Third Sector and
the Scottish Government. The Centre for Individual and Business Giving
is headed by Dr Eleanor Shaw.

The project is part of the Centre for Charitable Giving and
Philanthropy, which is being conducted in partnerships with other
projects at Cass Business School at City University and at the
universities of Edinburgh, Kent and Southampton. The Centre for
Charitable Giving and Philanthropy (which forms the hub) of four
inter-related research projects, seeks to support high quality
independent research aimed at influencing policy and practice in the
area of charitable giving and philanthropy. Working with this Centre and
partner organisations, the centre at Strathclyde seeks to explore the
contemporary practice of entrepreneurial philanthropy and to develop an
evidence base which can inform theory, practice and policy on the areas
of individual and business philanthropy.

Applicants for the position of Research Assistant should have a Masters
degree or above in a relevant social science/business and management
disciple, have a demonstrated competence in information management and
the ability to manage a complex database.
