CALL FOR PAPERS
Special Issue of the International Journal of Entrepreneurship and
Innovation: 'Indigenous Entrepreneurship'
Guest Editor: Leo Paul Dana
Deadline: 1 July 2007

Indigenous entrepreneurship - defined as 'subsistence or other
self-employment economic activity by members of an indigenous minority'
- is currently at the focus of much theoretical, practical and political
interest. Whereas Western models of entrepreneurship have had little
success with indigenous peoples around the world, there is a need to
develop culturally-appropriate models of indigenous entrepreneurship.
While management skills can be taught, entrepreneurial attitudes appear
to be culture-bound.

This special issue of the International Journal of Entrepreneurship and
Innovation will focus on these problematic questions. Theoretical or
empirical papers and case studies which address these issues are
invited. Areas for discussion may include the following (but these are
not exclusive and
contributions from other areas of enquiry will be welcomed):

* the Alaska Natives;
* the Inuit of Canada and Greenland;
* the Sami people of Scandinavia and Russia's Kola Peninsula;
* the Komi people of Russia;
* the Nenets; and
* the Ainu.

Please send an electronic copy of your empirical paper, case study or
book review, before 1 July 2007, to: Professor Leo Dana, University of
Canterbury, New Zealand. Email: Leo.dana at canterbury.ac.nz.

Contributions should be prepared in accordance with the journal's
submission guidelines, which can be found on the inside back cover of
each issue or at www.ippublishing.com.
