About the Position

This is a great opportunity for a recent PhD graduate in a quantitative field to publish and launch a career in international, top-ranked business academia.

The role will be to lead the analysis of rich dataset that tracks all patented inventions (811) and to participate in publishing the results, creating theory-driven variables and then analysing the data.

Candidates should have ideally completed (or nearly completed) a PhD in economics, management or other quantitative fields, be very good in quantitative statistics and be keen to pursue a career in business academia.

# you should have: A quantitative mindset
# Basic skills in database creation and management
# Panel data analysis methods
# Ability and interest to write academic papers for international management journals
# An interest in entrepreneurship, patents and technology commercialisation
# Knowledge of management theory (and more specifically theory on knowledge and capabilities).
# Ability to manage part-time coders for data-collection
# Advanced knowledge of Excel
# Visual basic and SQL skills to facilitate the management of the database and the calculations of new variables.

Salary and Conditions of Service

* Salary: ca. £27,193 per annum
* Employees will have the option of electing to join the Pension Scheme. All University pension schemes are based on final salary.
* All appointments at City University are subject to a probation period.
