Call for Papers

2nd Interdisciplinary Workshop “Decentralization and Networks“

April 18th to 19th 2013, University of Siegen, Germany

The second interdisciplinary workshop „Decentralization and Networks“ will take place in Siegen, Germany from April 18th to 19th. The workshops’ objective is to provide an overview of recent scientific contributions to network research and decentralization tendencies. Scientific discussions and the exchange of ideas among researchers and other scientific staff are explicitly encouraged at this event. To foster scientific discussion and exchange with international researchers, both English and German language tracks are planned. We invite authors to submit currently unpublished (quantitative and qualitative) contributions, reporting on either work under development or completed projects about theoretical aspects or practical implications of the workshop topics.

Submissions for research papers will be welcome on the following or related topics:
· Intra- and interorganisational Networks and Cooperation
· Internationalization and Strategies of Decentralization
· Decentralization and International Human Resource Management
· Decentralization and Mobility
· Decentralization of Public Services
· Family Businesses and Networks
· Internal Capital Markets and Capital Allocation
· The Legal Perspective of Business Networks
· Communication and Cooperation Infrastructure for Decentralized Organizations
· Networks and Entrepreneurship
· Decentralization in Different Markets
· The Role of Networks for SMEs
· Innovation Management: Bridging the Tension between centralized and decentralized Organizations

Contributions that cannot be sorted into any of the above topics may be submitted for an “open track”.

Interested participants need to submit an abstract (maximum 2 pages) of their paper by February 15th, 2013 (deadline). Please submit abstracts to knut.petzold at uni-siegen.de<mailto:knut.petzold at uni-siegen.de>. All abstracts will be reviewed by the conference organizers until March 1st, 2013.

With this workshop we offer a high quality interdisciplinary scientific event. Selected contributions will therefore be offered the possibility of being published in the following journal:
· International Journal of Entrepreneurial Venturing (VHB – “C“)

If you intend to submit a paper to be published in this journal, please hand a full paper version of your abstract until April 1st, 2013. Please also note that the research topic of a submitted paper should be related to entrepreneurship or organzations research.
