REMINDER: 2012 swissSIER Summer Doctoral Workshop

Dear Colleague, 

The application deadline for the 2012 swissSIER Summer Workshop is this Friday!  The goal of this workshop is to bring doctoral researchers together in working groups structured around similar methodological approaches and/or subject matter so that they can have in-depth discussions about issues specific to their research. Each working group will have 4-8 people and will be conducted by a post-doc or professor. The workshop will take place Thursday, August 30 to Saturday, September 1, 2012 in Stechelberg. This event will have a limited number of spaces available, so apply early to ensure your eligibility.

The event will be structured along two tracks; Track 1 is for early-stage PhDs who have not yet, or only recently, presented their research proposal and are still in the early stages of research. This track will devote attention to the selection of a dissertation topic, research design, and sources of data. Track 2 is intended for students who have defended dissertation proposals and have at least one paper in progress. This track will devote attention to paper development, methods, reviewing skills, and completion of the dissertation. The two tracks will join together for selected panels, activities and for all meals. Applicants focusing on the nexus of strategy, technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship will be given preference.
