About Montreal:

Montreal is a large metropolitan city in the Province of Quebec. Home to 3 million people, it is the second largest city in Canada and one of the oldest in North America (see Old Montreal). It is one of the most multicultural cities in North America. Montreal is often considered the most "American" of French cities and the most European of North American cities. Dubbed as one of the most livable and affordable cities in North America, a cultural capital and a City of Design (UNESCO), it is also considered one of the best places to host international conferences and most importantly, to eat. Main industries include fashion (like Aldo, Parasuco, La Senza, Le Château), aerospace (with Air Canada, Bombardier, CAE, Pratt & Whitney, ICAO, and ACI), pharmaceutics (Novartis, Wyeth, Pfizer, Merck Frost), technology (Ubisoft), cinema, and other major players like Bell Canada, Hydro-Quebec, Molson Brewery, the Montreal Canadians hockey team, and the Cirque du Soleil. With its four seasons and considered one of the snowiest cities in the world, Montreal hosts festivals and activities throughout the year. Called the 'city of festivals', Montreal hosts renowned festivals such as the International Jazz Festival, Just for Laughs Festival, Montreal High Lights. Summers are hot and filled with cyclists and terrace lovers. Winters are filled sledding and skating, and with skiers and snowboarders who can practice their sport within an hour from downtown.

In short, this is a great opportunity both for intellectually stimulating environment in a world class university and an exceptional city to live in!
