Newcastle University is continuing its substantial investment in the Business School to further enhance its teaching, research and programme development expertise. As a result of a recent strategic review within the School, we are appointing a number of new Chairs across fields that include Marketing, Strategy, Innovation, and International Business. Appointees will play a strategic leadership role in the development of these subject areas within the School. In particular, we are seeking to appoint a Chair of Innovation and or Enterprise to strengthen our existing research expertise in the area of innovation and entrepreneurship. The chair will be expected to play a role in research leadership in the area, including helping to guide the development of the School's existing centre for Knowledge, Innovation, Technology and Enterprise (KITE), and to play a central role in the management of the relationship between the school and Science City, linking the school to other parts of the University through a variety of mechanisms.

The post requires an experienced researcher with an established record of research income and research management, publication at international levels of quality, and experience of interdisciplinary collaboration and linkage with business. The potholder will be expected to contribute to teaching through the development of new programmes at masters and executive level.

Applicants may have expertise in any area of management and business studies with relevance for innovation, knowledge transfer and exploitation, or entrepreneurship. It is essential that applicants have experience of working in a business school or related environment and can play a lead role in the design of business school research and teaching.
