Post Doctoral Research Positions - CIÊNCIA 2008 - IN+ Lisbon

The Centre for Innovation, Technology and Policy Research (IN+) of Instituto Superior Técnico (http://in3.dem.ist.utl.pt/) offers two research positions in the field of ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND TECHNOLOGICAL CHANGE. 

The Centre for Innovation, Technology and Policy Research (IN+) is a research centre of the Instituto Superior Técnico (www.ist.utl.pt), the largest and most prestigious school of Science and Technology in Portugal. The activities of the Centre are multidisciplinary, including the study of entrepreneurship, the commercialisation and diffusion of new technologies, industry evolution and labour market dynamics. 

Successful candidates will receive a salary in accordance with university regulations for a senior researcher. The contract offered will have duration of up to 5 years, renewed yearly based on mutual agreement. The annual gross income, before taxes, will be approximately 3,100 Euros x 14 months. 

APPLICANTS
Applicants should have obtained a PhD in Business, Management, Economics or Public Policy. Preferred candidates will have quality research record and at least one year post-doctoral research experience. Successful candidates are expected to conduct applied research, primarily in the following areas:
* Technology-based entrepreneurship and its impact on industry evolution, employment growth and regional development;
* Entrepreneurial careers, with a particular emphasis on the dynamics of entrepreneurial entry and exit;
* Innovation dynamics in firms and industries, particularly concerning access to knowledge sources, R&D cooperation, and the effects of innovation on productivity, competitiveness and employment;
* Innovation strategies of new and established firms, including diversification and corporate venturing; and
* The effects of science and higher education policies on technology commercialization, entrepreneurial human capital and human resource dynamics.
