Post Description:

The College of Business, Social Sciences and Law is one of the six new Colleges within a rapidly developing research-led university. Situated in a region of outstanding natural beauty and easily accessible from all parts of the country, the College of Business, Social Sciences and Law consists of three academic Schools which are highly rated for teaching and research. Bangor Business School is an innovative and fast-growing business school located in Bangor University. In the 2001 Research Assessment Exercise (RAE), the School achieved a ranking of 5 in the Accounting and Finance subject area. The excellent research and teaching environment is reflected in growing student demand at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. A new £14 million Management Centre was opened in September 2007 to cater for this demand. The School is currently embarking upon a major expansion programme aimed at consolidating its research, teaching and other strengths.

The successful candidate will be expected to contribute, as part of a team reporting to the Head of School, to the development of extensive Welsh Medium Teaching Materials as part of the Welsh Medium Teaching responsibilities associated with the post. In addition the Business School, in support of both the School and University strategic plans, is expanding its ability to undertake teaching, research and third mission activity through the medium of Welsh. Hence the successful candidate will be expected to actively participate in the Research Excellence Framework.

Candidates with teaching expertise within the Business and Entrepreneurship areas are invited to apply. The ability to communicate in Welsh is essential for this post.

It is expected that those appointed will take up their posts before the end of September 2008 and the post is available for a period of 3 years.
