The University's current pay and grading structure is under review.

The Strategic Management subject group, comprising of 14 members, is responsible for the delivery of a diverse range of modules across the University, at undergraduate, postgraduate and professional level (for example the undergraduate Business Programme, MBA programmes and specialist masters). In addition to core strategic management modules, we contribute to a wide range of areas, including enterprise, entrepreneurship and innovation, small business management, change management, business communications, contemporary and pervasive issues and business ethics. A number of these are core modules delivered to 400+ students.

The group has recently seen an increase in activities, specifically in the areas of undergraduate teaching, CPD developments and specific initiatives in Enterprise. In September 2008 a new degree award, BA (hons) Business and Enterprise, will be offered as a route on the undergraduate Business Programme, hence we are keen to increase our capability within this area.

The Faculty is seeking to appoint a candidate who is able to contribute to the delivery of generalist modules in Strategic Management at undergraduate level and postgraduate level but who are also capable of contributing to developments in the areas of Enterprise, Entrepreneurship and Innovation. The candidate will also be required to contribute to scholarship through research and/or consultancy activity.

We would particularly welcome applicants with experience of working with small businesses or the voluntary sector. In addition, to facilitate the development of our programmes and activities we are seeking applicants who have an enthusiasm for innovative approaches to teaching and helping students/partners develop different ways of thinking and engaging in learning.

It is essential that the candidate has relevant academic qualifications, excellent communications and interpersonal skills, together with the ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
