CALL FOR PAPERS - MAIN THEME AND CONFERENCE TOPICS

The main theme for the 21st Annual RENT Conference is: Entrepreneurship and small business development - making the difference in local, regional and national economies

Submissions of any aspect of entrepreneurship and small business development are welcome, but preferably concerning the following issues :
* Entrepreneurship and regional development
* Entrepreneurship, support measures and policy issues
* Entrepreneurship education
* Entrepreneurship and knowledge-based Economy and Society
* Sustainable growth
* The role of universities in fostering entrepreneurship
* Entrepreneurial Process: From Creation to Growth
* Business incubation and new venture strategy
* Spin off processes and knowledge transfer
* Globalisation and SMEs
* Networks and entrepreneurship
* Social entrepreneurship
* Technological entrepreneurship
* International entrepreneurship
* Entrepreneurial Finance and venture capital
* Governance issues and corporate social responsability
* Entrepreneurship and special interest groups (women, ethnic minorities, ...)
* Family firms
* Corporate entrepreneurship / intrapreneurship

Those who wish to present a paper at the conference should submit a 3 page abstract in English (3 A4 pages - 12 points - single space between lines) by JUNE 1st, 2007.

The abstract should clearly highlight :
* the aim of the paper
* the contribution to the literature
* the methodology, results and implications.

Since all abstracts are reviewed using a double blind review process, it is COMPULSARY that neither your name nor your contact details appear on the submission (the authors are recognized in the system via their login)

Every presenter must be prepared to act as a discussant for one paper at the conference

Notification of acceptance for presentation at conference
End of July 2007

Full paper + one page abstract deadline
1 October 2007

BEST PAPER AWARD

Following the tradition, there will be an Award for the best paper presented at the Conference.

* Researchers, educators and practitioners in entrepreneurship from all over the world, who want to present their researches and discuss their findings with other experts
* Representatives of governmental organisations, business and trade associations concerned with the promotion of entrepreneurship
* Senior officials in entrepreneur development, economic policy-making and administration
* Suppliers of education and training services
* All those interested in entrepreneurship

CALL FOR BIDS

The European Institute for Advanced Studies in Management (EIASM) and the European Council for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (ECSB) are looking for candidate-organisers for the RENT "Research in Entrepreneurship" conferences in 2008 and 2009.

The bid should include information regarding the applicant's organisation and the proposed workshop location as well as the key person involved in the organisation of the conference. Also a preliminary conference theme and schedule should be included in the bid.

The bids should be addressed to michelante at eiasm.be before March 1st , 2007.
