NARRATIVE APPROACHES IN RESEARCH

Research Workshop, April 20 to 21 2006

Department of Management, Faculty of Business Studies, University of Vaasa,
Finland

The purpose of this workshop is to provide a forum for doctoral students to get
to know, discuss and deepen their knowledge of narrative approaches as a
methodological base in research. Of course, postdocs and more experienced
researchers are welcome to attend as well.

While the workshop is open to all and participation is encouraged from across
disciplines, an emphasis is placed on cross-disciplinary research in
entrepreneurship via the invited speakers.

The three invited speakers include Professor Henrik Gahmberg (University of
Vaasa), Dr Seija Mahlamäki-Kultanen (University of Tampere) and Dr Simon Down
(University of Newcastle upon Tyne).

Subject to agreement with their home institution, doctoral students can gain two
Finnish credits in their doctoral programme.

The workshop is free for all participants.

The deadline for registration (with or without presentation) is 31 MARCH 2006.
